Using only one template (provided by the teacher), you will learn the fine points of cutting, marking, stitching and having a great time.  The sample project is a 20" square perfect for a candle mat or a small table topper.    Come join us for a day at Sagamore, learning a new skill or perfecting an old one!

Log Cabin Blocks (3 hr or 6 hr)
Table runner or quilt
Saturday 9am-12pm
Teacher: Elaine Rubenau

Log Cabin Block - This block is one of the all-time favorites of quilters
and is ideal for beginners or more seasoned quilters. The basic design is
showcased by the interplay of simple strips of light and dark fabrics.
These can be random mixtures of lights and darks; it is also effective
when just one fabric is used for the light sections and mixed fabrics for
the dark sections. A third possibility is something like all reds and all
blues, or all blues and all yellows. A very versatile block with many
different settings to choose from with outstanding results!

Pieced Christmas Stocking   (3hr)
Saturday 9am-12pm
Teacher: Terri Burdick

Get a jump on the holiday and make a unique Christmas stocking in August;
great for decorating, for kids to hang on the fireplace for Santa, or use
as unique gift wrap. This stocking can be made in as few as 2 colors,
scrappy (a great way to use up leftover Christmas fabrics) or crazy, with
an appliqué focus, etc. Various size stocking patterns will be supplied
and we will discuss various piecing options in class and then create your
own unique stocking.

Saturday 1pm-4pm
Teacher: Pat Burdick

Celebrate Fall in the Adirondacks and make this colorful fall wall
hanging. This simple wall hanging can be made from a few favorite fall
colors and feature a favorite fall print in the border or it can be
created from scraps. The pattern includes fall leaves, pumpkins, gourds
and acorns can use fusible appliqué or hand appliqué.

Fabric Marbling (3 hr)
Saturday 1pm-4pm
Teacher: Nancy Sue Foltz
The marbling of paper is an ancient technique where paper is placed on
floating color that has been swirled and manipulated into fantastic
designs.  Why not try the same technique on fabric?  The results are
impressive, bright and colorful.  The process is relatively simple and is
mastered quickly.  Come join us and use these wonderful pieces in your
next quilt project.
