Hiking and Paddling

Led by expert naturalists and historians, participants will learn about the qualities that make the Adirondack Park unique: specifically, the interesting mix of public and private lands that comprise the largest park of any kind in the Lower 48. Combining paddles, hikes, lectures and a trip to the world-class Adirondack Museum, participants will retrace parts of the route taken by visitors to the region, and in so doing, enjoy the same connection with the natural environment that drew the Gilded Age elite here starting more than a century ago.
