Hamilton County is over one million acres of the Adirondack State Park. With over 60% being classified as either Wilderness or Wild Forest, it is one of the best locations to watch boreal birds. Now in its 12th year, the Hamilton County Birding Festival brings together bird watchers from all over the United States to explore and discover the amazing birds of the Adirondacks. Stay for three nights in our National Historic Landmark buildings and enjoy a variety of weekend activities. In addition to lodging, this weekend package includes early Continental breakfasts each morning, a pack lunch on Friday, a Thursday buffet dinner in the Sagamore Dining Hall, a special Friday night dinner cruise on the W.W. Durant, and an outdoor BBQ on Saturday night, complete with live music and complimentary beer, courtesy of the Adirondack Pub & Brewery in Lake George. You won't have to travel far Sunday morning as naturalist, Gary Lee will be leading a birding walk as part of the festival right at Sagamore! After the walk enjoy a special Sunday brunch and a tour of Sagamore as part of our annual Open House before heading out. Sagamore is close to a number of the weekend birding activities, including a guided walk around Sagamore on Sunday morning. Everything is included, only $349 per adult.
