Kayaking in the Adirondacks


Many describe kayaking as 'being at-one with the water'. Our professional instructor will discuss safety and equipment and then teach the best techniques for flat water kayaking. Kayaking 1 to 6 miles a day, generally flat-water kayaking but lakes are large enough to experience choppy conditions. Learn techniques for maneuvering your craft on flat water and tips for paddling in flowing rivers. All equipment is provided but you may bring your own. 

Experience tranquility for yourself padding a pristine lake as dawn's rising mist reveals reflections of autumnal trees and your own smiling visage. Kayak Sagamore Lake, paddling the same waters as the Vanderbilts did before you. Instruction begins after breakfast at the Sagamore Boathouse; once you're familiar with the equipment and how to use it safely, enjoy kayaking excursions led by our experts.
