All of our "grands camp" experiences are designed to bring family generations together in a safe and beautiful natural setting. Our programs provide a wide variety of activities designed to embrace the connections between grandparents and grandchildren while fostering respect for both our natural environment and this National Historic Landmark. Come see why Time Magazine has considered Sagamore’s to be “the granddaddy of intergenerational programs.” Many of our “grands” return annually, so early registration is recommended.
Grands Camp at Great Camp Sagamore
Sunday, July 17 - Friday, July 22
Now in its third decade Sagamore's nationally-known grandparent/grandchildren camp is designed for grandparents with grandchildren of varied ages between 6-14. This program is the perfect way to reconnect with grandchildren, as many as you care to bring! Activities during the day include hiking, canoeing, arts & crafts, and music, with evenings earmarked for campfires, concerts, night-hikes, and a good old-fashioned barn dance, right in the Sagamore barn! Grandparents have an opportunity to rest and relax during the late afternoon each day, while children attend ‘kids club’ with Sagamore staff. Finish the week with a ‘talent’ night, where everyone gets to show off something they've learned. Expect nature discovery, crafts, music, campfires, stars, fresh air and lots of laughter. Many of our “grands” return annually to build priceless memories. Grandparents can bring one or more grandchildren of any age to this session. Just remember: no parents allowed!
A 25% non-refundable, non-transferable deposit per camper is required in order to register; balance due is on or before May 1st. Or you may purchase gift certificates for both grandparents and grandchildren. Grandparents may bring more than one child per adult, so long as they feel they can manage the added responsibility.
We will not be sending separate mailings to the children, so grandparents must be sure to share all necessary information they receive with the children and their parents.
In order to register for Grands Camp, please call the Registrar at (315) 354-5311.
