Incorporated under the Department of Education as a cultural institution, Great Camp Sagamore takes its dual purposes of educational programming and interpretation of this site seriously.
That is not to say that you can’t have FUN here. On the contrary!
There are lively discussions on how we fit into nature, but they probably take place as you are viewing the Milky Way on a clear evening or sitting at the campfire with a grandchild or two, not in a stuffy classroom.
Great Camp Sagamore’s mission is to be that place where broad and diverse audiences gather to use these unique buildings and natural setting to explore and understand our Adirondack culture, environment, and relationship to both.
