Songwriting At Sagamore - Act Globally, Sing Locally

Writing Songs for Social Change in the Heart of the Adirondacks,
presented by The Eighth Step

DAVID ROTH, TRET FURE & JOE CROOKSTON, SARA MILONOVICH & DAN BERGGREN

Our stellar ensemble of well-traveled and seasoned songwriters lead an all-levels immersion in the crafting and performance of songs as a powerful force for growth and change.

Inspired by iconic elders Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Malvina Reynolds (and so many more), we’ll explore, examine, and experience the past/present/future of music for social change, cultural unity, personal growth, women in the music business, the environment from acid rain to global warming, the plethora of issues in Washington, the role of art in cultural change, and more.  We’ll also offer nuts and bolts mentoring on writing your own songs/stories/essays. Wednesday afternoon features a tour of this magnificent wilderness retreat.
